Training meet for farmers in WKH

NONGSTOIN: The office of the District Horticulture Officer (DHO) in collaboration with the Khasi Students Union (KSU) Siejlieh Unit organised a training-cum-awareness programme for farmers at the DHO office hall on Tuesday.
The programme was organised to sensitise farmers about the importance of agriculture to fight poverty.
K S Nongbsap (Rtd.), Sub Divisional Horticulture Officer, Nongpoh was the resource person of the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Nomgbsap highlighted the importance of organic farming and also emphasised on various government schemes for the welfare of the farming community.
He urged the farmers to adopt intensive farming with improved production technologies developed from time to time.
More than 60 farmers from different villages of Nongstoin participated in the programme.
