SHILLONG: As the countdown begins for the Lok Sabha poll results, UDP leader Bindo Lanong said MDA will secure both the seats in the state.
Lanong said in Shillong, the contest is tough between Congress candidate Vincent Pala and the common candidate Jemino Mawthoh but the latter definitely has a slight edge.
As for the Tura seat, which witnessed more aggressive campaigning, Lanong said that the contest is neck- and-neck but Agatha Sangma will have an edge as all the partners of the MDA have worked together for her.
The Tura constituency, which has been the fortress of the NPP, is witnessing a three-cornered battle between Congress, BJP and NPP. However, the main fight in Tura is between the veteran Mukul Sangma and the young Agatha Sangma.
It may be mentioned that less than two weeks remain for the results to be announced for the Lok Sabha election which is taking place in seven phases.
