SHILLONG: The Shooting Association of Meghalaya (SAM ) as part of its activities and initiative to promote and popularise shooting sports in the State organised first Shillong Open Shooting Championship 2019 on May 18 – May 19 at the Assam Regimental Center’s shooting ranges, Happy Valley, Shillong. The Events conducted on the two days include; 10 meter air pistol men and women; 10 meter air rifle men and women; 25 meter sports pistol women; 25 meter standard pistol men; 50 meter small bore. 22 rifle, peep sight, prone position, men and women. The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Meghalaya Police Shooting Club, Police Reserve, Shillong on the May 19.The Director General of Police, Meghalaya, R. Chandranathan IPS, who was the chief guest on the occasion gave away the medals to the champions. Claudia Lyngwa, SP, East Khasi Hills District was also present in the function.
