SHILLONG:Former Home Minister and Congress leader,RG Lyngdoh has termed the performance of the Congress in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections as pathetic.
Talking to media persons here on Friday, RG Lyngdoh said that the leadership of Congess has to be looked at and even their policies have to be looked at.

Stating that the Opposition now needs to be strong, he, however, cautioned that the Government would go haywire if the Opposition is not strong.
Earlier, Lyngdoh maintained that people in North East were wary of certain politics of the BJP- led NDA government but since Meghalaya and other North Eastern states of the region are working with NDA ,they have to ensure that rights and aspirations of the people of the North East are protected.

It may be mentioned that the North Eastern states witnessed huge protest over the decision of the NDA to implement CAB in the country.

The statement of Lyngdoh assumes significance since the performance of the Congress party in the country and the North East was  far from satisfactory.
