Meghalaya government urged to frame traffic policy

SHILLONG:A delegation of prominent citizens from Shillong under the banner of a foundation on Friday urged the State Government to frame traffic policy in the city to address the problem of traffic congestion in the city.
Talking to media persons after meeting Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong,RG Lyngdoh said that the Government should have a traffic policy in the long run.
He said that they had taken lot of suggestions from various stakeholders about how to ease traffic jam in the city and same suggestions had been presented before the Deputy Chief Minister.
The citizens also gave many suggestions to the Government to ease the congestion.
During the meeting, Tynsong said that the they would look into the suggestion even as he maintained that the Government had formed its own committee to look into the problems of traffic congestion in the city
