SHILLONG: The KHADC has approved the proposal for enhancement of land patta and application fees for industries which are set to boost the revenue of the Council, executive member Land, Titoswell Chyne informed here on Friday.
Chyne said that earlier, a proposal was sent to the Executive Committee to revamp the land department and it was approved on Friday.
He also informed that the department has initiated to revise patta fees from Rs 10 to Rs 200, adding that the last fee revision was in 2011.
Chyne also made a proposal to upgrade the working equipment in the department such as the GPS, map printing equipment, total station used by land surveyors.
After reports of NOC being issued by the secretary of Hima Nongspung to Assam government, Chyne said instructions will be given to traditional heads against issuing of NOC without the approval of the KHADC.
Monolith Festival
Arts and Culture Executive Member Rangkynsai Kharbuki has informed that the executive committee has decided to hold the third edition of Monolith Festival tentatively in October or November, however, the venue of the festival is yet to be decided.
There has been discussion to change the venue to Sohra or Nongpoh, however nothing has been decided on changing the Mawphlang Heritage Village site, Dkhar said.
It may be mentioned that the first Monolith Festival was held in 2014 and after a brief hiatus, the second edition of the festival was held in 2016.
The second Monolith festival bagged two awards at WOW Awards Asia 2017 at Aerocity, New Delhi in 2017.
Computerisation of all departments
Macdalyn Sawkmie Mawlong, Executive Member in charge of Information Technology department has informed that all departments in the KHADC will be made computerised to plug leakage.
Mawlong said that by making it computerised with advance technology they will be able to tap leakage of taxation.
She also observed that there is a need to re-modify and re-develop software in the KHADC with collaboration with the NIC.
