SHILLONG: The NPP is not going to ask for any ministerial berth for Agatha Sangma, who won the Tura parliamentary seat by defeating Congress stalwart and former chief minister Mukul Sangma.
Sources in the NPP said that the party is not going to ask for a ministerial berth for Agatha as the BJP is already in a comfortable position to form the government on its own.
It may be mentioned though that Chief Minister Conrad Sangma shares a good rapport with BJP national president Amit Shah and has attended many a meetings and dinners with the latter.
Agatha was Union Minister of State for Rural Development in the first UPA government when she was an NCP MP. She later resigned from the post during the Cabinet reshuffle in October 2012.
Meanwhile, other sources also said that there is little chance for Agatha to get a berth since NPP has managed to win just one of all the seats which it contested in the Northeastern states.
