SHILLONG: Yooki Phawa of Mihmyntdu village in West Jaintia Hills has withdrawn his complaint lodged on April 9 before the Divisional Forest Officer (T), Jaintia Hills Division against the illegal issuance of limestone challan.
In a statement issued here, he said that after due verification of facts, he found that all of the ‘accused persons’ have acquired stocks and challans by following due procedure of the Forest department.
In his complaint to the Jaintia Hills divisional forest officer against illegal issuance of transit challans, he had alleged that persons who have not submitted any ‘mining plan’ and do not own limestone mines have transported lakhs of metric tonnes of limestone to Bangladesh.
