One killled in accident
A driver of a local taxi (Ml-05D-3904) namely Pyniarapborlang Nongsiej (42) died on the spot when his vehicle dashed against a stationary truck at Umbang, Ri Bhoi, on May 29 at about 5:10 am.

Stove blast kills one
A person namely Ratborlang Nongbsat (28 yrs) succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. He sustained injuries when a kerosene cooking stove burst while preparing food on May 28 noon at Umtham, Kyrdemkulai, Ri Bhoi.

Theft
A person namely Ranjit Singh was caught red-handed on May 27 around 1:15 pm, while he was stealing computer set and bathroom accessories from Rilbong Arts & Culture building.
Mohinul Haq, Tanu Lai, Azizul Rahman and Mozmul Haque jointly lodged a complaint that on May 27 around 6:30 pm, around six masked miscreants, armed with pistol and knife, went to Naga Depot on NH-62 in South Garo Hills and robbed Rs. 15,300 in cash and a cell-phone from them.
Unknown miscreants stole a motorcycle (ML-08F-5407) belonging to Ratan Datta on May 24 around 2 am, which was parked in his compound at Chaipani, Dalu in West Garo Hills.
Allcomfort Kharbani lodged a complaint that on May 23 around 8 pm, unknown miscreant(s) stole music system from his vehicle, which was parked near the Meghalaya Rural Bank at Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills.
