ICDS building inaugurated in Mairung

NONGPOH: Umsning MDC, Mrs Macdalyne Sawkmie Mawlong on Saturday inaugurated the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) building at Mairung, in Ri Bhoi District constructed under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) at a cost  of Rs. 6.50 lakhs.

The ICDS building was inaugurated in presence of the village headman, P. Nongbsap, Supervisor from CHC Umsning, other village leaders and the local populace.

Speaking at the function, Mrs Sawkmie praises the efforts and vision of the village leaders to give the best possible care for young children and pregnant women of the village through this building while also heaping words of praises for the Anganwadi workers as well for their dedicated services.

 Mrs. Sawkmie also exhorted the local populace to extend their cooperation with the villags leaders and the Aganwadi workers so that the building will serve its purpose for the benefit of the young children and pregnant women while at the same time also urged the pregnant to take good care of their health and unborn babies by going for a monthly check-up and injections.
