NEEPCO draws flak

SHILLONG: The Trade Unions of NEEPCO have apprised Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Union Power Secretary regarding the outstanding dues with the beneficiary states have to pay.
“The total outstanding dues are more than Rs 800 crore and the dues of Meghalaya alone is over Rs 600 crore”, the unions said.
The unions of NEEPCO objected to the decision for resumption of power to Meghalaya. and blamed the Chairman & Managing Director for the dues. “The unions of NEEPCO have sacrificed the facilities of the employees of the Corporation due to financial crunch”, they said.
