Students’ Union demands NEHU authorities to pull up socks

SHILLONG: North East Hill University Students Union  (NEHUSU) has lamented  that lack of administrative will from the NEHU University authorities is affecting the students and the University is not growing academically.

Talking to media persons here on Friday, Advisor, Rangdajied  Marwein rued that from mistakes in evaluation of papers of the fifth semester of UG courses, to mistakes in the declaration of result in the website, lack of faculties , inadequate hostel facilities, setting questions out of the syllabus, there are several issues which are cropping up and affecting the university and it’s academics
Marwein alleged that  the students are suffering on various fronts and are waiting for their grievances to be addressed. 

Stating that the UGC has given six months’ time to the university to fill up the vacant posts, failing which the UGC will be compelled to cancel the grant, Marwein said that if the Vice Chancellor, Prof PK Srivastava fails to fill up the vacancy within six months and if the UGC cuts the grant, NEHUSU will demand his resignation on moral grounds and if the need be adopt democratic means of protest.
Earlier he also stated that the many students have been shown as fail in their examination in the online results but in the original results, the students are passed.
He said that the university should make its digital wing more effective
