DC orders Khonjoy PHC staff to occupy quarters

SHILLONG: South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner, Isawanda Laloo has issued an order to the District Medical and Health Officer to direct the medical officers and staff of Khonjoy PHC to occupy their quarters with immediate effect and to ensure their presence on all working days.
In a letter to the District Medical and Health Officer, the DC said that the administration has taken a serious view on the matter concerning the absence of medical officers and staff at the Khonjoy PHC for many months now.
The letter stated that earlier this year, instructions were given to the MO and staff to immediately occupy their quarters and to attend to the medical requirements of the people of Khonjoy.
According to the letter, the SDO of PHE, Ranikor has also confirmed about the availability of water at the PHC but that no action was taken resulting in continued negligence of delivery of health services to the people of the area.
