SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Other Backward Classes (OBC) Association has lamented over being deprived of their right to that of the non-tribals in Meghalaya.
The President of the organisation, RG Pradhan said that there are many advertisements which are being published in news papers from the state government seeking nomination for different category including OBC whereas there is no OBC category in the state of Meghalaya. He informed that the OBC category existed in Meghalaya up till 2004.
Since, presently the state government does not have the OBC category, it is not understood as to how the government offices are showing vacancy under this category.
