Three killed, 7 injured in separate accidents
On June 13, one dumper truck driven by Lius Rymbai (38) fell into a gorge near Toll Plaza, Lumshnong NH-6 (East Jaintia Hills). As a result, the driver died on the spot.
On June 13 around 1.30 pm, an accident took place between one Maruti Alto car driven by Arlis Rymbai (36) and a truck driven by Bijoy Siangshai at Umtyra NH-6 (East Jaintia Hills). As a result, driver of the Maruti Alto succumbed to his injuries. Necessary formalities were observed.
On June 14 morning, one Bolero pick-up (AS-15AC-1035) driven by Babul Hussain dashed against one Maruti Alto driven by Lala Charei near Ialong Civil Hospital, NH-44, Jowai. As a result, five occupants including one minor occupant sustained injuries and were admitted at CH Ialong.
On June 13 evening, one BSF truck driven by Gurpreet Singh dashed against one truck driven by Hari Ch Das from the rear at Umling (RB). As a result, driver of the BSF truck sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Nongpoh.
On Tuesday, one motorcycle ridden by Iaishah Kharsohnoh, met with an accident at ICAR Shillong by-pass Road in Ri Bhoi. The rider sustained injuries and was taken to CH Shillong.
On Monday around 9:30 am, one motorcycle ridden by Nitul Kumar Nath met with an accident with one Maruti car in Mawiong. The pillion rider identified as Gulab Deka (24) sustained injuries and was admitted at CH Shillong, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Body recovered
The body of Alexis Kharbani was found floating at Umtrew River in Byrnihat, Ri Bhoi on Thursday. Necessary formalities were observed.
Assaulted and robbed
Kripal Roy lodged a complaint that on June 13 at 8 pm, five unidentified persons including two females assaulted him at Oakland Road, Shillong and snatched his cell phone and Rs. 1500 cash.
Bojen Marak lodged a complaint that on June 11, 4-5 miscreants gagged his mouth and blind folded him at Asiragre (East Garo Hills) and robbed him of Rs. 2,600 and a mobile phone. The complainant could identify one of the miscreants as Ismail.

Cashier attacked
On June 12 around 10 pm, five unidentified occupants of a Maruti car (ML-05E-4461) went to Rymbai Service Station at Mawiongrim, Shillong and assaulted the cashier of the service station.

Couple beaten up
Molika Bibi lodged a complaint that on June 10 at 1.30 am, Shahjahan Ali along with Alom Sheikh, Monijamal and Fuljahar Sheikh went to her residence at Teporpara village (South West Garo Hills) and assaulted her and her husband namely Mosto Ali. The complainant also stated that on the instruction of Shahjahan Ali, his accomplices attempted to rape her.

Man thrashes wife
A complaint was lodged that on June 9 around 8.30 am, Emmon Phawa of Iongkaluh village went to the house of his 34-year-old estranged wife, tore her clothes, assaulted her with bamboo sticks causing injuries to her and also threatened her with dire consequences.

Break-ins
On June 9 at 1.40 pm, miscreants entered into the residence of Lardros Marweiñ at Mawlai, Syllaikariah, Shillong and attempted to break the locker of a steel almirah. However, the complainant’s daughter saw the miscreant and raised an alarm.
H Kerwood Thabah lodged a complaint stating that on June 9 around 9:30 am, unknown persons parked their vehicles in front of his house at Sanmer in Upper Shillong. Later, a person identified as Island Mawlong along with his three sons and fifteen others, forcibly entered his residence, used foul language and attempted to assault him.

Cheating
Saman M Sangma of Sadolpara village (West Garo Hills) lodged a complaint that on May 27, he handed over Rs. 40,000 to Gatseng Sangma of Damalgre, to be deposited in the account of the complainant at SBI Main Branch, Babupara, Tura. However, on checking the balance he found that only Rs. 20,000 was deposited in his account.

Cattle-laden trucks detained
Ladrymbai Police lodged a complaint stating that on Tuesday around 9:30 am, they received information that three trucks carrying cattle were proceeding towards Ladrymbai in East Jaintia Hills. A checking was conducted at Mookhep village where police detected three trucks (ML-04C-4557, AS-01DC-1925 & ML-04A-3557) driven by Pyndapki Suchiang, Sanjay Lama and Bipholjoy War, suspected to be illegally transporting around forty-one heads of cattle for supply to Bangladesh. Police have seized all the cattle.

Two persons detained
On Tuesday, North Garo Hills Police were suspicious after noticing Phedaline Mawroh (34) of Mongrinka village under Shallang PS in West Khasi Hills along with Samad Ali (37) of Kalbanga, Borbeta, Assam, moving around suspiciously, on a motorcycle (AS-01B2-5973) at 7th Mile Dainadubi. Police detained them for further necessary action and Phedaline Mawroh was later taken to Mendipathar PS for safe custody.
