Rohit, Venkata power India U19 to a big win over SL U19
COLOMBO, July 23: Leg-spinner Rohit Yadav and pacer C. Venkata shared seven wickets among them as India U19 subdued Sri Lanka U19 by 211 runs on the fourth day of the second Youth Test here on Thursday.India U19 won the two-match series 1-0 after the first contest ended in a draw. It was a spirited comeback from Indians after they lost the preceding Youth ODI series 1-2.Starting the day on 155 for four, chasing a distant target of 472, the home side was folded for 260 in 76.5 overs, shortly into the post-lunch session.Skipper Vimath Dinsara, overnight 55, was the first to depart for 64, falling to pacer Pranav Raghavendra.It was the last nail on Sri Lanka’s hopes to at least extend the fight.Rohit Yadav (4/49), who backed the three-wicket haul of Venkata (3/27) the previous evening, soon ran through the lower order to reduce SL U19 to 242 for nine.There was a token fight from Sethmika Seneviratne (42, 49b, 6×4, 1×6) which only delayed the inevitable.Off-spinner J. Pakistan to play 5 ODIs with England ahead of World Cup
KARACHI, July 23: Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday finalised a five-match one-day series with England next year ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup being co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.The series will be held in England from May 15 to 26.The PCB said the series would serve as valuable preparation for both teams ahead of the World Cup, to be held from October 4 to November 21.Pakistan are currently ranked fifth in the ICC ODI Team Rankings, while England occupy the seventh spot.The last time Pakistan toured England for an ODI series was in 2021.England are also scheduled to tour Pakistan in November this year for a Triangular series also involving Sri Lanka.The PCB has yet to announce the dates and venues for the series. F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 Time Trials from July 30
MUMBAI, July 23: Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited (MFRL) will host the F1 Sim Racing India Open 2026 Time Trials, a talent hunt programme, here later this month to give aspiring racers an opportunity to showcase their race craft.The event will be held at Bharat Mandapam on July 30 and August 1.The Delhi Time Trials are part of MFRL’s nationwide talent identification programme.The competition carries a total prize pool of Rs two crore, the organisers said.The winner will earn a place in Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited’s “One in a Billion Hunt”, which features a Rs three crore Driver Development Fund to support their journey into professional motorsport.“The F1 Sim Racing India Open trials give aspiring racers the opportunity to experience professional F1 simulators first-hand. It allows them to discover their potential and decide if they want to pursue a structured motorsport journey, progressing through the zonal and national stages of the championship and, ultimately, earning the opportunity to take their first steps into professional karting,” said Ameet Gadhoke, MD MFRL.The event is contested on F1 25, the official game of the FIA Formula One World Championship.
