NONGPOH: Khasi Students Union president Lambokstarwell Marngar on Friday inaugurated a bus shed at Mawphrow village, Ri Bhoi, constructed by the Union’s Nongpoh Circle and Mawphrow Unit.
The organisation has taken this initiative to build the bus shed as Mawphrow is one of the most rural villages, lacking all kinds of development and infrastructure from the government especially the road connectivity.
The village is one of the largest producers of pineapple.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Marngar lauded the efforts of the leaders of Nongpoh Circle and Mawphrow Unit of building the shed for the benefit of the villagers.
He also encouraged the members to keep working on various issues for the benefit of the people.
Marngar also asked the members to be vigilant of outsiders taking advantage and exploiting the poor farmers, and also urged the local farmers not to get lured by the offers which will cost them huge losses on their products.
