Rare species turtle rescued in NGH

RESUBELPARA: An endangered species of turtle was rescued in North Garo Hills on Tuesday.
The turtle was first spotted by John F Kennedy R Marak, a resident of Resubelpara and his field workers on Monday. They picked up the turtle and safely transferred it into a bucket and informed the authority.
With the order of Resubelpara SP, the turtle was then carried to his office, where it was handed over to the Assistant Conservator of Forest (Wild Life), Tura, HG Momin MFS.
“Since it is unharmed, we will jointly release it in the Turtle Sanctuary at Aruakgre, North Garo Hills.This turtle is an endangered species we must protect it at all cost,” Momin informed.
