Son assaults mother
Akash Singh of Municipal Quarters, Bivar Road, Shillong lodged a complaint stating that his son had asked his mother for money reportedly for buying drugs. When his mother refused, the son assaulted her and stole all the money in the house.
Accident
Shibu Dey of Pynthorbah Block-4, lodged a complaint stating that on Jun 17 around 10:20 pm, while his auto pick-up driven by Ranjan Kumar Rai was proceeding from IGP Point towards Kachari Point, one truck entered the ‘No Entry’ zone from Kachari Point and dashed against his vehicle opposite ICICI Bank near the Main Secretariat Building. The auto pick up was damaged and its driver sustained injuries and was admitted at Nazareth Hospital.
Drug bust
On June 19, Mawii Hmar (32) of Happy Valley, along with Dimmsainnew (32) of Madanrting Block-D, were apprehended in Madanrting. One soap case containing suspected drugs weighing around 12.49 grams was recovered from their possession.
Theft
Lukhi Lapang (56 ) of Umkdait Block-I, Nongmensong, lodged a complaint stating that on June 20 around 4:30 am, Vishal Gurung stole iron rods from the construction site of his house. Police have arrested the accused.
