Social entrepreneur encourages youth to lead the way

SHILLONG: Social entrepreneur Vivek Sagar who is also the founder and CEO of Dexterity Global interacted with the students of Ramakrishna Mission at the Vivekananda Cultural Centre in the city on Friday.
Sagar arrived in the city on an invitation by the state government to interact with college and university students including government officials.
Emphasising on the idea of selfless service, as enunciated by Swami Vivekananda, Sharad encouraged the youth to set their sights on the unexplored horizons of leadership.
He defined leadership as the ‘simplest act of service stating that mothers are the best examples of unsung leaders because of their untiring service throughout their lives. Sharad said that young leaders should be excited about the 21st century and its challenges as they are the ones who are privileged to address all the problems spanning from education to health.
He also said that in his first visit to North East India, he found that popular service and leadership of the country would come from this part of the nation and urged the youth to break the boundaries and bring out the extraordinary capabilities of leadership and service.
“If you are doing your work with full honesty, you are a patriot,” he said.
Sharad left for Manipur on Friday evening.

) It may be mentioned that Sharad was invited by President Barack Obama to the White House, listed on the global Forbes 30 under 30 List, inducted by the Rockefeller Foundation in the list of 100 Next Century Innovators and was  invited by the Nobel Peace Centre to the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony.
