Debt unpaid
Starwin Kharjana of Mawnarian Village, East Khasi Hills, lodged a complaint that one Heren Kharmawphlang of the same village received a work order of Rs one lakh for construction of a footpath (2015-16) from KHADC. Since Heren Kharmawphlang did not have any money, he approached the village Dorbar for help, who, in turn, approached the complainant to take up the construction, with a promise that Heren Kharmawphlang will repay him the full amount on completion of the work and on receiving payment from KHADC. However, on completion of the work and receiving the amount from KHADC, Heren Kharmawphlang gave the complainant only Rs. 36,000 and failed to pay the remaining amount till date.

However, the complainant learnt that the above letter did not reach the concerned department, thereby depriving her from receiving the maintenance support.
