Security boost at KHADC office

SHILLONG: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has stepped up its security bandobast having learnt lessons from unwanted public demonstrations and vandalism in recent years.
Speaking to reporters, Deputy CEM Pyniaid Sing Syiem said the Executive Committee (EC) observed that proper security should be provided to its officers and staff as the KHADC is a constitutional body.
He informed that 12 casual security personnel were employed and were trained at the North East Police Academy and they will be again trained for one week at Police Training School (PTS). The council has monitored the visit of people which will be for the safety of the elected representatives and the staff of the council as a whole.
