SHILLONG: Students of St. Edmund’s College staged a protest in the college campus on Wednesday carrying placards in front of the Principal’s office.
Defying heavy rainfall, the students protested against the mismanagement of the governing body.
The students carried placards that read, “It is our right to know the truth,” “What are you hiding?”, “We demand transparency”, “We demand a statement from the management.”
It may be mentioned that the Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association, St. Edmund’s College (MCTA, SEC) Unit on July 1 had launched an indefinite protest against the College governing body over various issues.
The teachers have demanded dissolution of the governing body, reinstatement of assistant professor Jeffreyson Wahlang besides bringing uniform service rules for the teachers.
