224 cases settled in Lok Adalat

SHILLONG: As many as 224 cases were settled during the Lok Adalat held in the city on Saturday.
The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority has organised the National Lok Adalat with the support of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the patronage of Chief Justice Ajay Kumar Mittal, with the guidance of Justice H.S. Thangkhiew and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
As many as 647 pre-litigation cases and 436 pending cases were posted in the National Lok Adalat for settlement. The cases included MACT, Bank Recovery, civil cases and compoundable criminal cases.
The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority expressed gratitude to all for the encouragement and support for making the National Lok Adalat a success in Meghalaya.
