Stress on forming cooperative societies

SHILLONG: A one-day motivational programme was held at the Tirot Sing Memorial Hall, Pyndemuniong, Mariang recently in which A Nongbri, Sub-Divisional Officer, Mairang Sub-Division was the Chief Guest.
The main objective of the programme was to sensitise the people on the formation and organisation of cooperative societies. It aimed at more participation from the people in forming cooperative societies.
Speaking on the occasion, Nongbri said the people should strive to work as a team and even as one aspires to achieve great heights they should grow with all. With the existence of cooperative societies, there is ample scope for every individual to grow as a team by obtaining various services offered to the public by the department, he added.
Others who spoke included W Diengdoh, Branch Manager, Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd., Mairang branch, V Swer, BDO, Mairang C&RD Block, S Tham, Sub-Divisional Veterinary Officer, Mairang Division and E B Chyrman, Circle Cooperative Officer, Mairang Circle.
