SHILLONG: KSU president Lambokstarwell Marngar has expressed shock over the curtailment of powers of the autonomous district councils (ADCs).
In a statement issued here, he said the union will ascertain as to how the powers of the ADCs vis a vis industrial estates could be taken away and questioned the basis for such action.
The Directorate had through a notification recently stated that the industrial estates across the state are owned by the state government under the Commerce and Industries department and as such do not fall under the jurisdiction of ADCs or any traditional bodies or institutions.
