Editor,
The Unnao rape incident has indeed shaken and shattered the very fabric of democracy in our country. Is ours really a democratic or plutocratic government? Going by the shocking story of the ordeal of the rape victim, a girl aged only seventeen years is beyond description. She and her family’s untold miseries and mishaps that were inflicted upon them by the Unnao sitting MLA and his stooges reeks of completely lawlessness in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a classic example of how the powerful and the influential can commit heinous crime and easily escape the strong arms of the law here.
As per the statement of the girl, prior to the tragic events, it was the Unnao MLA, Kuldeep Singh Sengar who raped her at his residence on June 04, 2017, when she went in to seek the help of the MLA to find her a job. Her father was arrested on false charges and beaten by the police and the MLA’s men when he wanted to lodge a complaint with the police. Some days later her father was succumbed to his injuries.
On July 28, 2019 the rape victim and her lawyer were seriously injured and her two family members died when a truck struck their car. This tragic incident has not happened naturally but as per a well-scripted conspiratorial plan. Moreover, the truck had blackened the license plates, and the police officers assigned to provide security to the alleged victim were not present. The lame excuse offered by the security was that there was not enough space to accompany the victim in the car. This is a glaring lapse on the part of the police security as well. Why is the UP government not taking action against the erring MLA?
Why does the UP government dilly-dally on the decision of arresting the MLA and all his other accomplices even after they committed such heinous crimes? Whom is Yogi Adityanath afraid of? The UP government is not supposed to take too much time on this case especially when the issue has shaken the conscience of the country. So, everyone is looking to the UP government to see them whether they are taking strict and stringent action against the MLA who is believed to be the mastermind behind all the connected crimes subsequent to the rape.

The illogical logic
Editor,
When logic turns malleable like warm plastic it may lead to disastrous consequences. When no logic was respected in the matter of the Balakot Air strike then the satellite imagery of Reuters and World View-2 are in vain. No sound reasoning was ever used to correlate damaged mobiles (300 of them) with the alleged slain terrorists. It is a fact that the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp is intact, though jingoism and nationalism had invented an unprecedented tsunami that had done the job. It was designed to win elections for the BJP with the exception of Kerala thanks to its literacy where sound principles were applied in important issues of life and death. We never applied logic to find out why the Supreme Court’s comments on the Election Commission of India (ECI) like “you are toothless,” “you woke up now”, “Now you learn of your powers to pass orders”, etc., fell on deaf ears. On two occasions SC ordered the ECI to respond on its deviant behavior. Till May 23, 2019, nothing had been done, and surprisingly the second order had funny ideas coming from the ECI. That was when the ECI doubted the integrity of three men, who complained of its deviant behavior.
I have intentionally used the words ‘three men’ and not ‘three gentlemen’ to send a message loud and clear that all voters in the country have no business or false interest whatsoever to tell a lie. The technical snag developed in the first attempt of Chandrayan 2 mission goes to prove that even if A.T.C.T. Bell USA (American Telephone and Telegraph) assembled the machine, no one can boast that a machine is perfect.
Coming to Meghalaya, we seem to ignore logic as regards to the Supreme Court lifting the NGT ban. The Sixth Schedule is being treated like molten plastic that could have the shape we love. We never at any point of time ever questioned insurance companies when smashed plastic bumpers are more precious than smashed heads of pedestrians, and it is sad that accident tribunals appear defunct. The sight of our children in war torn Yemen where children lose their eyes and legs does not seem to tickle our conscience. We ignore them because they are from a particular religious identity. How joyous are the Sudanese doctors when a girl patient recovers her sight. Peace hath her victories no less renowned than war. We salute the march past of flamboyant officers with half a kilogram of medals but never salute doctors and researchers and philanthropists who are battling in laboratories to cure diseases. Right now Iranian children from poor families are facing acute starvation and they don’t see any end to this anytime soon.
Regarding water from the moon and the possibility of human settlements there I have listed some of the world’s wealthiest who could avail of the prospects. They are Jeff Bezos, Jim Radcliffe, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Bernard Arnault, Carlos Slim and Amencia Ortega. The earth would take one billion years to cool down after the Big Bang.
From space Neil Armstrong looked at the beautiful earth but feared its fragility. Thus, since 1969, we had plundered mother earth to the extreme. It appears there is nothing left at all for our children and grand children. If we substitute war and hate with peace and love, we have a fighting chance to survive. Thus amidst scientific explorations and achievements there is no space or time to gloat whatsoever.
