SHILLONG: A live workshop-cum-CME was organised by Nazareth Hospital in collaboration with the Association of Surgeons of India, North East (ASI NE) and the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI) from August 1 to 4.
Sixteen advanced laparoscopic surgeries were demonstrated and all patients were discharged in good health.
Prominent faculties from all over the country demonstrated interacted with a host of surgeons from the NE and other parts of the country.
Notable names included Dr. B.S.Pathania, president AMASI from Jammu, Dr. Kalpesh Jani, secretary AMASI from Vadodara, Dr. Jugindra Singh, president elect AMASI from Imphal, Dr. Manoj Kr.Choudhury, convenor of the workshop, Dr. G.Rangad organising chairman and Dr. Jayanta Kr. Das, organising secretary, Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.
AMASI also conducted skill course training and held exams for the Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) to more than 70 young budding surgeons.
The live workshop was aptly supported by a team of anesthesiologists from Nazareth Hospital, led by Dr. Himjyoti Das, HOD, Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care.
