1 killed
Rocky Shyrmang of Mihmyntdu village, East Jaintia Hills lodged a complaint that on August 4, four persons, viz., Lambas Lamurong, Memon Latam, Heimonmi Latam and Shaniah Latam assaulted his brother Sonarius Shyrmang. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to CH Shillong and later to NEIGRIHMS, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Suspected murder
Debraj Chettri lodged a complaint that on August 12 around 7.30 am, his father Krishna Chettri’s body was found lying on the roadside on the way to Iongkaluh village East Jaintia Hills. It is suspected that he was murdered.

Murder attempt
Reena Magar of Punjabi Lane, Iewduh, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on August 2, one Gilder Ali (allegedly a drug addict) attempted to murder her son Sameer Magar with scissors. As a result, the victim sustained grievous injuries and was shifted to NEIGRIHMS.

Vehicle torched; 3 held
Ionis Shylla lodged a complaint that on August 12, around 2.30 am, miscreants set fire to his Maruti Gypsy (ML-11-8022), which was parked at Lumlakba playground, Jalaphet, Bri-Sumer East Jaintia Hills. In this connection, police have apprehended three persons Pyrkhat Shyrmang, Juhhi Paya Pakem and Shahlang Shyrmang.

Torture
Noor Janat Begum lodged a complaint that on August 5, her daughter-in-law Samima Khatoon indecently abused and assaulted her with the help of Faruk Siddique, Joya Siddique and Nusrat Siddique. Later, the accused persons broke her mobile phone, attempted to push her from the stairs and also locked her inside a room. The complainant further alleged that occasionally her son Mobin Khan also partakes in torturing her.
