BMX cycling record holder felicitated

TURA: A 20-year-old endurance cyclist from Meghalaya, Winward Sangma, was on Thursday felicitated by the West Garo Hills District Administration during the 73rd Independence Day celebrations in Tura.
Sangma was conferred the Award of Recognition for Inspirational Cyclist, Youth Icon for Sports and Conservation of Nature by the Meghalaya Education Minister, Lakhmen Rymbhui.
Sangma recently made a name for himself by successfully going on a historic BMX bike ride to the Besisahar Himalayas in Nepal on June 21 this year.
He was accompanied by another cyclist, Hopesent Marak, and a professional media team from Shillong.
