SHILLONG: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma distributed trophies to the winners of march past who took part during the Independence Day celebrations at Polo on Thursday.
The awardees are Pine Mount School, Loreto Convent School and St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School who bagged the first, second and third prize respectively.

Meanwhile, The General Secretary of Meghalaya State Olympic Association Cheranjit Chaudhaury distributed the prizes at the Basketball Court, Polo to the winners of the Independence Day Run held in the city.
The 4.5-km run was jointly organised by the office of the District Sports Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong and the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong.
The winners of the open-category civilians (Male) include Kresstarjune Pathaw (1st), Emphius Nongrum (2nd) and Ribet Dkhar (3rd). The winners of the open-category civilians (Female) include Pynhun Shulet (1st), Darishisha Iangjuh (2nd) and Lyntijingkyrmen Kharjahrin (3rd).
The winners of the open-category of Paramilitary Forces (Male) include NP Singh (1st), Mudang Omo (2nd) and Bharat Bhushan (3rd). The winners of the open-category of Paramilitary Forces (Female) include Sonai Ingtih (1st ), Wansumariaka Rabon (2nd) and Meris Klein (3rd).
