Nongpoh: Three persons hailing from the same family died on the spot after being struck by lightning while they were working on a poultry farm at Rtiang village under Umsning Police Outpost in Ri Bhoi.
According to sources, the incident occurred on Thursday evening around 4pm.
The deceased have been identified as Herdalit kurbah (40), Ronstar Rympeit (32) and Stonder Kurbah (21).
It was also informed that the family members of the deceased including the village leaders had failed to inform the police about the incident.
However, police came to know about the incident on Friday and an enquiry has been launched to find out the details regarding the incident.
