District Swachh Survekshan launched in Resubelpara

TURA: Deputy Commissioner and Chairman Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen), S C Sadhu on Monday launched the District Swachh Survekshan at Multi Facility Hall, Bakrapara, in Resubelpara. Swachh Survekshan is the cleanliness survey with a focus to achieve complete sanitation.

Speaking during the programme, Sadhu stressed on the need for a clean surrounding which is a pre requisite for overall development and require behavioural change on the part of all stakeholders towards proper waste disposal; reduced dependency on plastics, restoration and minimal damage to environment. He added that the launching of Swachh Survekshan will indicate the level of improvement on sanitation in the district.

A D Sangma, E.E (PHE) & Member Secretary SBM (G) informed that the objective of Swachh Survekshan is for ranking of Districts across India on sanitation. The ranking will be done on the basis of quantitative and qualitative sanitation parameters such as self-assessment by the District, data of SBM (G) and IMIS.  Twenty five villages from each district will be surveyed on sanitation by IPOS, Research Private Limited Delhi commencing from August 17 to September 17 and it will be a digital and paperless survey, he added.
