MAWKYRWAT: Ranikor MLA, Pius Marwein inaugurated the parking lot, godown, market stalls and an approach road at Photkroh village under Ranikor Civil Sub-Division, South West Khasi Hills District, on Monday, in the presence of Langrin MDC, Nassar Marwein and Border Area Development Officer, A. Lyngdoh.
The improvement including metalling and blacktopping of the link road from PWD Road to Photkroh Market and the parking lot including toilet facilities at Photkroh Market was constructed through the Additional Fund under the Special Central Assistance (SCA) of the Border Areas Development Programme (BADP) 2017-18 sanctioned at Rs.25 lakh and Rs.32.50 lakh respectively.
Meanwhile, the godown (Rs.10 lakh) and the two market stalls (Rs.10 lakh) at Photkroh Market were constructed through the Development of Model Village under the Special Central Assistance (SCA) of the Border Areas Development Programme (BADP) 2018-19.
Speaking on the occasion, Marwein said that more and more developmental activities in Photkroh and other adjoining villages like Rodu, Panchering, Myriaw, Mawhati and others which fall under the Development of Model Village will take place in the coming years. He said that this year he had listed many schemes to these villages including road from Photkroh to Myriaw, school building at Panchering, road in Koroikora and also Community Hall at Photkroh.
While appreciating the people from the area for putting application to him as a reminder for the developmental activities in the area, Marwein sought the cooperation of the village authorities so that more development may come to their village.
He also informed the people that the MLA scheme will also be released this month.
