SHILLONG: MLA of North Shillong constituency, Adelbert Nongrum officially handed over his letter of support to the United Progressive Front (UPF) to the Deputy Speaker.
The UPF, a partner in the MDA has 4 MLAs from People’s Democratic Front (PDF), one Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA and one Independent MLA.
The North Shillong MLA also said there is a need to discuss on the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) order, 1950 at the Autumn session.
He added that there are many other non-indigenous tribes who are entitled to many benefits.
