SHILLONG: KHADC Executive Member in-charge of Trade, Paul Lyngdoh has said the renewal of trading license of many traders is taking time since many of them do not produce their police verification reports.
“In trade department, a number of traders did not submit police verification reports and so renewal is taking time,” he said.
He added that 60-65 percent traders did not submit police verification reports but now the KHADC is insisting that they must bring them.
As far as issuing labour license is concerned, he said a meeting is being called between trade and labour departments within this week to discuss the matter.
In addition, the KHADC is continuously having meeting with the headmen with an intention to check infiltration especially with those who are in the vicinity of national highways.
Stating that the labour licensing system is very stringent, he added that the KHADC undertakes a review meeting on a monthly basis and the department is very careful while issuing labour license.
