MAWKYRWAT: The office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (A), Shillong has issued an advisory for the information of the general public that with the final draft of NRC being published on the August 31 by the Assam Government, there has been numerous false information going on through social media as well as media agencies.
Therefore, the office has requested the general public to refrain from spreading rumours or false information which may create public disorder. He further sought for support and cooperation of the public in helping the Police Department curb the perils of fake news and in maintaining peace and tranquility in the state.
