Chakhesang union celebrates 50th anniv

SHILLONG: Nagaland House on Saturday was blossoming in black and white as members of the Chakhesang tribe flaunted their indigenous weave smartly paired with Western outfit.
The members from all age groups were gathered to celebrate the golden jubilee of the Chakhesang Students’ Union, Shillong.
Nagaland MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu, who attended the event as the chief guest said, “Nothing much has changed as development was, and still is, slow. However, the standard of living in Shillong has gone up.”
Addressing the youth, Nienu said the sign of true development is growth of human resources.
“Discipline and punctuality are needed for the advancement of a community. Remember, there is no substitute for hard work,” said Nienu.
Young artistes namely Uzholu Tetseo and friends and Jano Nyekha were among the many performers.
Bollywood actor Zhokhoi Chuzho was also among the guests.
