SHILLONG: The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority (MSLSA) organised the National Lok Adalat in all the districts of the state on Saturday.
The National Lok Adalat was also organised under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) under the patronage of Justice Ajay Kumar Mittal, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya and MSLSA patron-in-chief ; and was supervised by Justice HS Thangkhiew, High Court of Meghalaya, and MSLSA executive chairman.
A total of 755 pre-Litigation cases and 409 pending cases were taken up for settlement which included MACT, bank recovery, civil cases and compoundable criminal cases.
Around 225 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 92,71,515 was settled.
