NEEPCO biennal conference

SHILLONG: The Federation of NEEPCO Employees (Union) held the First Biennial Conference at NEEPCO Corporate HQ, Shillong, a release issued here informed. A large number of delegates across all the projects of NEEPCO from North East participated in the day-long conference and various issues pertaining to employees and introduction of new polices by the Government of India was discussed during the the session.
The conference dwelt at length on the mergers/disinvestment of PSU’s in Power Sector. The delegates also expressed concern for the growth of the corporation and the union decided to play a constructive role and support the management. The union also pledged to pay zero tolerance to corruption and such unethical practices.
During the conference, the Federation of NEEPCO Employees (Union), the new Central Executive Committee was formed.
The president of the federation was Joram Tamin, Benis Roy Thein, Working President, W. Houmse & Dondeswer Goswami, Vice Presidents, Pinaki Das, General Secretary, Ripa Likha & Haradhan Banik, Additional General Secretary and other memebrs
Jemino Mawthoh was the chief guest and Anil Kumar, Director (P) of NEEPCO was the guest of honour along with other guests. Chief guest Jemino Mawthoh released a souvenir and spoke on the potentiality of Hydro Power Development in the North East, particularly in Meghalaya. Other who spoke on the occasion included Assistant Labour Commissioner (C), Guwahati, Hari Om Gautam, Manabendra Bhattacherjee, President of Meghalaya Joint Council of Trade Union and Association, among others.
