SHILLONG: The leaders of Mawphlang Labour Union (MSU) said that locals should be given preference while alleged outsiders should have proper documents.
Speaking to the media, Rickson Nongsiej expressed concern on the entry of alleged outsiders with no documents in Mawphlang.
Sports secretary of the union, Khamborlang Kharshandi said people without valid documents are not allowed to work and stressed that local companies and contractors should be given preference.
“For workers from outside, the company concern should prepare the documents and No Objection Certificate (NoC),” he said.
As for local labourers, Kharshandi said that they should improve their work culture for better job quality.
