MiG-21 crashes near Gwalior
Bhind/Gwalior: A MiG-21 trainer aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district after taking off from the Gwalior airbase on Wednesday, officials said. Both pilots ejected safely and were later rescued and admitted to hospital, they said. “It was on a routine mission and was airborne from the Gwalior Air Force Station. The aircraft crashed at an approximate distance of 6 nautical miles while on approach for landing,” the IAF said in a release. “A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident,” it added. An IAF rescue team soon reached the spot with a helicopter and took the two pilots along with it after providing them first-aid. Both the pilots were later admitted to a hospital by the IAF rescue team. Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had called Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa on Wednesday to enquire about the reasons behind the MiG 21 crash that took place near Gwalior on Wednesday.(Agencies)
Haryana road accident kills 10
Jind: At least 10 people died and one other was injured in a road accident at Jind-Hansi road here on Tuesday night. The youths were returning to their home after participating in an Army recruitment rally when an oil tanker ran over their auto near Ramrai village about 10:30 pm. They took the auto from Jind city and met with the fateful incident after barely travelling eight kilometres on Jind-Hansi road. “Two of three people have been identified. We have found documents from their bags and intimated their family members to verify their identity,” DSP Kaptal Singh said. The deceased include five from a single village. The injured were admitted to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment. (ANI)
Gurugram youth stabs parents
Gurugram: A youth of Gurugram old city stabbed his parents as he felt that they were giving less importance to him. His father died on the spot and mother is battling for her life in AIIMS trauma Delhi. A complaint in this regard has been received from Mayank Mehta, younger brother of the accused. Rishabh Mehta (32), was involved in a quarrel with his father Sushil Mehta and mother Chandar Mehta in his Laxmi Garden residence on Tuesday evening. Mayank went to nearby market to buy some fruits. Mayank received a phone from his uncle who informed him that Rishabh is stabbing his mother and father. When Mayank reached home, he saw that Rishabh was still stabbing his father. The accused fled from the spot after committing the crime. He was however nabbed on Tuesday from the same locality. (IANS)
