SHILLONG/MAWKYRWAT: The Block Level Convergence Committee, Mawphlang C& RD Block on Friday organised the Rashtriya POSHAN Maah Nutrition Exhibition-cum-Anaemia Camp at Anganwadi Centre in Khar La Khar village.
While speaking about the POSHAN Maah, Warjri sought the cooperation of the people in providing nutritional needs of the children, lactating mothers and pregnant women
At Sohiong, the Block Level Convergence Committee, Sohiong C& RD Block also conducted Rashtriya POSHAN Maah-cum-Rally and Swachhata Hi Seva (SBM) at Indoor Stadium, Shillong Dongki, Sohiong which was attended by officials from various departments and school students. Hundreds of people and students of the area participated in the POSHAN Maah awareness rally which was flagged off by B Sungoh, BDO, Sohiong C&RD Block.
Meanwhile, a ‘Celebration of Poshan Maah-cum-Felicitation of AAAAs (Anganwadi worker, Anganwadi helper, Asha, ANM and Supervisor) was held in Mawkyrwat where Deputy Commissioner of SWKH District, Isawanda Laloo was the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Laloo termed the fight for nutrition in the district as a war and said, “The cooperation of different departments, AAAAs, syiem, myntris, headmen, teachers, students and all involved have helped us win this war.”
