Drive against illicit liquor

SHILLONG: The Excise staff of East Khasi Hills District arrested 16 persons and seized 56.950 litres of i/d liquor and 15.410 litres IMFL in the month of August during the department’s drive against illicit liquor. Altogether 21 cases were detected.
Raids were conducted in restaurants and stalls in the town and its outskirts during the drive.
