NGO wants DC’s action on overloaded trucks

SHILLONG: The Anti-Corruption and Human Development Organisation (ACHDO) has urged the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills to take strong action against truckers who ply through the State highway, AMPT Road with trucks overloaded with boulders.
In a letter to the DC, the organisation has mentioned that overloaded trucks carrying stones (bloulders) from Bhutan to Bangladesh have been using the damaged AMPT Road further deteriorating the condition of the already dilapidated road. The organisation has also mentioned that if action is not taken to stop the plying of such trucks, it will stage a peaceful agitation against the truckers.
