E-Sngobha initiative to support the needy

NONGSTOIN: The E-Sngobha initiative, a charity programme providing a platform for fellow beings to donate and support the needy was launched at the Wall of Kindness in Nongstoin on Wednesday.
The first E-Sngobha was organised by the Nongstoin Nature Club (NNC) in collaboration with the Nongstoin Officers Club.
The chief guest was West Khasi Hills, Deputy Commissioner T Lyngwa, who is also the chairman of the Nongstoin Officers Club.
Around 150 beneficiaries from around Nongstoin received gifts bags containing clothes, food grains and shoes.
They were donated by officers, people from Nongstoin and other parts of the state.
Five commodes were also donated by shops from Nongstoin. They will be used by NNC members for construction of toilets for the less fortunate who cannot avail any governmental support to do so.
Others who were also present were Mayborn Diengdoh, EAC, C Mawkon, BDO Nongstoin C & RD Block, R. Majaw President NNC, S Hoojoon , vice-president, R Thongni , secy and other members of NNC.
