Guv calls on DoNER minister

SHILLONG: Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy called on the Union Minister of State in-charge Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) etc Jitendra Singh in New Delhi on Friday and offered his inputs regarding social and other issues related to the state.
Singh said that the development of peripheral states has always been the priority of the Centre. He added that North East has been benefited a lot in terms of connectivity with the rest of country.
Singh said that the government is making all efforts to promote handloom and handicrafts of North East. He added that other areas which have potential in the state are fishery and piggery development, which will provide livelihood opportunities to the people of the state.
