Govt committed to check drug abuse

SHILLONG: The state government has decided to go aggressive to check drug abuse in the state.
A senior government official said on Saturday that efforts are on to ensure that the youths in the state are not affected by drug abuse.
To a query, the official said that coordination with the police officials of the Northeast is the need of the hour. There were a series of arrests in the past to prevent the youths from resorting to drug abuse. The pressure groups, women and people from various localities had also come out in support to check the trend.
