SHILLONG: The Food Committee of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations 2019 of the Nongthymmai Sports & Cultural Club held the farmers’ market at Madan Nongthymmai.
It saw the participation of 31 farmers/SHGs from East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, Ri-Bhoi and Jaintia Hills.
Melari Nongrum, executive director NESFAS (North East Slow Food & Agrobiodiversity Society) was the chief guest.
Kyntiew Syiem, Promoter of Women Farmers’ Self Help Group (SHG) from Smit was also present.
Others present were R.V Dkhar, headman of Dorbar Shnong Lumiablot, B. Nari, headman of Dorbar Shnong Nongrim Hills, N. Pakyntein, headman of Dorbar Shnong Lumsohphoh, members of Seng Kynthei Lumsohphoh and other members of the club.
