Delegation urges KHADC CEM to revamp Executive Dorbar

SHILLONG: The Deputy Chief Executive Member of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Pyniaid S Syiem, who is also in-charge of Elaka was urged to convene the traditional annual Dorbar Hima Mylliem (state Dorbar) within 2 months (within December), and to urgently restructure the Executive Dorbar of the Hima Mylliem.
A delegation of 15 individuals from various localities of Hima Mylliem led by the spokesperson of traditional institutions, John F Kharshiing, submitted a memo to Syiem on Tuesday.
The delegation stated that another 20 persons should be included in the executive dorbar to be elected by the Dorbar Hima as part of the Executive Dorbar of Hima Mylliem to ensure maximum transparency.
The is to ensure that  reports and audited statements are placed for discussion before the citizens regarding constitutional issues that have impacted the citizens of the Hima due to failure to convene the annual customary Dorbar Hima.
Syiem  promised to examine the issues listed urgently and would again convene a special meeting to deliberate on the challenges to make the Hima Mylliem a model Hima in view of the upcoming schemes and projects which are to likely to implemented and sanctioned.
